Early Sunday Ride at Syncline

I had to do a little work this weekend - so Thor and I got an early start on Sunday morning and headed out to Syncline to get a ride in. We were on the trail by about 9a.m. - just in time to catch the first beautiful light of the day. We forgot our camera, but Thor's iPhone did a pretty good job capturing the setting!

Our view from one of the first switchbacks - Mt.Hood in the distance.

I think I'm taking a sip of water from my camelback here....or I could be blowing a snot rocket. It's debatable. ;)

A view up the hill towards the ridgeline.

Looking east out the Columbia Gorge towards the Dalles.

Our view from the top of the climb with Mt.Hood in the background.

Thor - happy to be out riding - as always!

Spring-Like Weather & Sun!

A rare thing in Portland this time of year - but we've got both today! It's supposed to be close to 60-degrees all week long, and today on my mid-day walk I noticed the cherry trees were blossoming - so beautiful!

Sandy River Trails

On Sunday Thor and I celebrated Valentine's Day by checking out the new Sandy River Trails located near Sandy, OR. We picked the worst weather, but we had a blast, the trails were great, and we can't wait to go back. There are only about 5 miles of single track right now, but the plan is to increase to 15 at some point, and they're doing an awesome job so far!

A Special Moment - Lakers vs. Blazers 2/6/2010 v3

This past weekend my dad & Brenda came to visit, and the 'highlight' of the trip was going to see the Blazer vs. Lakers game on Saturday night. Now, the game itself was not great. I don't think I've ever seen the Blazers play so poorly - BUT - one hilarious fan decided to do an impromptu dance in the stands and was on the megatron for about 20 seconds. I couldn't find a clip of his entire dance - but if you watch the video here at 1:21 you might recognize two people who had front row seats for the dancing action! (it's a pretty fast clip - 4 seconds - look for dad & brenda in the upper right hand corner of the screen. dad's in the blue shirt). Hilarious!

Kathryn's Birthday Scarf!

Ooops! I just realized that I never published this post about Kathryn's birthday scarf! I started it before her birthday (january 18? I can NEVER remember the exact date...I get confused between the 18th & 23rd - and it's probably neither of those!) and didn't want to ruin the surprise - so I held off, and then....well, you all know what happened!

Here are the stats on the scarf:

Pattern: Fiber Trends #AC-41 - Oak Leaf & Acorn Scarf
Yarn: Toots Le Blanc & Co. (www.tootsleblanc.com) - 40/60 Angora/Merino blend in white

Overall I am really happy with the way it turned out, although I would have liked it to be a tad longer. I bought the yarn and pattern at the Madrona Fiber show back in 2009 - so there wasn't much to be done about buying more yarn! It tucks up nicely into the neck of a jacket without a lot of bulky ends though - so maybe it's perfect depending on how you want to wear it!

Log Cabin Pillows

I finally finished these log cabin pillows that I've been working on for our living room. I totally poached the idea (and most of the fabric scraps!) from Michelle. (Thanks again!) These are super easy and fun to make!
