Oregon Enduro #3: Ashland

This past weekend Adele, William and I went down to race the third race in the Oregon Enduro series. We had a great time overall - although Adele was plagued by mechanicals during the race itself and got four flats!

Adele ended up fourth, and I was third in my category. William was the BEST race support and shuttled us around and hung out - it was great to have him along!

Oregon Enduro #2: Bend

Two weeks ago we went down to Bend for the second enduro on the Oregon Enduro series - we had a great time! I had a bad crash on Friday on a log drop, but got up again and rode it cleanly twice after that, so decided to ride that line during the race on Saturday. Well, I crashed again on Saturday! Ouch! So I was pretty bruised and scraped up by the end of the weekend, but I still had fun on my bike.

Adele killed it again and swept her category for first place overall. Yeah Adele! I came in second in my category despite the crash - not bad.

Next stop Ashland! Where we'll race the Ashland Mountain Challenge and scope out Adele's new home come fall 2013.

Me during Stage 1 on Funner (trail name)

Adele rocking her bling on the top step of the podium.

And me on the second step - with the second Bell Super helmet I've won this series. Pretty sweet!

Oregon Enduro #1: Hood River

Two weekends ago Adele and I went out to Hood River to race the first enduro of the season and we had a blast! Despite two terrible restaurant experiences that kept us up way past our bedtime the overall trip was s really fun time.

Adele killed it!!! She is such a natural on a bike and SO fast - it is really fun to watch. Adele won all seven of her stages for the win in the Sport Women's category. yeah!!!

I raced really well on Saurday - not so well on Sunday (sticky Velcro braking fingers) - but overall it went well and I ended up 2nd in my category (expert women).

Next stop - Bend!

The view from the shuttle to the start.

Me - riding off a drop mid-race.

On the final turn on stage 7.

Adele in the mist.

The green helmet I won - it's awesome. Waaaay more head coverage than my old helmet.

Thor's Birthday Weekend: The Deschutes and Post Canyon

Last weekend we headed out to the Deschutes for Thor's birthday. I'm cranky with Blogger right now because I wrote this post up mid-week - and then it deleted it! So this will be abbreviated narrative the second time around.

Normally it is hot (90+) in the Deschutes near Maupin this time of year, but not last weekend. It was on the chilly side (60), rainy, and windy. We stayed only one night instead of the two we had planned, and came back to Portland to ride bikes with William and Adele on Sunday. Overall a great weekend despite the weather!

Here are some pics:

The view on the way out - clouding up.

Aaaand - the sad weather once we got into camp.

We got in early enough on Friday to do a little fishing. We had a lot of success!

Dusk - right before we ran out of light.

A Saturday fish.

Some pictures from Sunday of Adele and I clearing table tops for the first time. Very fun!

Spring is Here....almost.

last weekend we went to shuttle up at Cold Creek. Thrillium was in great shape, but Cold Creek itself still had a fair bit of snow up top. in a few weeks it should be perfect!

the weather was perfect though and we had great views!

Mother's Day Shred-Fest in Bend

For Mother's Day weekend we rolled down to Bend to join William, Adele, Sarah and Emily for 2-days of mountain biking, camping and good eating!

We rode mtn bikes both days - Mom killed it and impressed everyone with how quick she was! Sataurday night we met friends Beth, Nate and baby Hu. for dinner at Jackson's Corner in the glorious warm weather.  And then Sunday morning Thor whipped up a batch of his delicious lemon ricotta pancakes with strawberries for a camp breakfast.

The Mother herself! Eating a scrumptious pancake!

Slow Saturday: The Tingeys Take it Down a Notch

We had the best, low-key Saturday this weekend. I think we stayed in bed reading until 10, whipped up some breakfast, and then look a leisurely stroll to the farmers market.

We spent the afternoon planting our raised beds, and then hit the shower early so we could get all dresses up to head to the P:ear spring fundraiser - it was a lovely evening with friends and great food!
