We spent the afternoon planting our raised beds, and then hit the shower early so we could get all dresses up to head to the P:ear spring fundraiser - it was a lovely evening with friends and great food!

Slow Saturday: The Tingeys Take it Down a Notch
We had the best, low-key Saturday this weekend. I think we stayed in bed reading until 10, whipped up some breakfast, and then look a leisurely stroll to the farmers market.

Dad Visits Portland in time for the worst weather!
Two weekends ago dad came to Portland and we had a great time despite the glum, overcast weather.
Friday night delicious dinner at Yakuza and Random Order pie!
Saturday fishing topped off with a tasty dinner at home and early night tucked in bed.
Sunday a scrumptious breakfast at Broder, lawn mower shopping, more fishing - and then a last dinner with William and Adele at Tabor Tavern.
Come back and visit any time Dad!

Hawaii Part II: Honolulu with Sheri & Daphne
After hanging with Anna for a few days I bounced islands to hook up with Thor, Sheri and Daphne. We hung out in Honolulu-and had a really nice time despite the chilliest weather Sheri could ever remember in her 30+ years of visiting HI! We paddle boarded, snorkeled (I had to invest in a thermal top so I didn't die in the frigid waters), and ate amazing food while we were there.
The final couple of days we went up to the north shore and caught a bit more sun in the afternoons. very nice! Daphne and I practiced our 'tourist' poses for pictures.

Hawaii Part 1: Maui with Anna!!
In mid-March I travelled to Maui to visit Anna for a few days before hooking up with Thor, Sheri and Daphne in Honolulu. As an added bonus Dad and Brenda were on Maui for a conference - so I squeezed a lot of family visiting into one trip!
I got to see Anna's sweet house up in Makawao, eat lots of tasty dinners, and go out on the boat with Anna every day! it was lovely, and a real treat to get to hang out with Anna 1:1.
One of the evenings Anna, Dad, Brenda and I went to see Ulalena (I probably butchered this spelling) in Lahaina, and I highly recommend it. it is an hour long performance detailing the history of Hawaii, and it is beautifully done.
Afterwards Anna tried to take me to one of her favorite shops - Lush - but I had such a terrible stomach ache that I could hardly stand up straight! I was such a sight doubled over on the main drag in lahaina that I'm pretty sure people thought I was drunk. I realize this isn't a great story - but I expect Anna will get a good chuckle remembering the comments we got from a couple guys passing by.
All-in-all it was a great three days - and it went by way too quickly. Good motivation to find another time to go and visit!

Post Canyon. not totally in yet
The weekend after Echo we made a one-day trip out to Post Canyon to do some shuttle runs with Adele. We ran into snow up high, and some mud mid-run, but overall it was fun! I even rode of a drop feature on the trail for the first time, although Thor caught the big air of the day.
Next stop - Hawaii!

Echo Red-to-Red: First XC Race of the Year
I know, I know. I am VERY behind in posting-and I've known this-but this morning I was officially called out on my laziness by a friend so I am committed to getting caught up.
We've been doing some neat stuff! in the interest of actually bringing the blog up to date I'm going to post some photo highlights with minimal narrative.
These pics are from our first camping trip of the year out to eastern Oregon for the echo red-to-red XC mtb race. the weather was great - we had an excellent weekend camping with friends- and everyone had good results (Adele won, William 2nd, me 5th)

Valentines Day MTB Road Trip
> Thor had a last minute work trip to Bellingham scheduled for Friday, and I had a flex day - so we decided to load our bikes in the car and make an impromptu road trip out of it. yay!
>
> I picked Thor up right after work so we could roll out of town, and he surprised me with some beautiful roses. Lucky girl! Mom swung by the house with some delicious red velvet cupcakes - so were both pretty excited to have a treat for the road - as neither of us has really had any dessert for over a month. yum!
>
> Friday morning we went out to breakfast at a pretty good little cafe (prospect?!) - they had gluten free hot cakes so I gave them a try just to have something different. They were tasty, but I still prefer eggs! We rode Friday afternoon and all day Saturday at Galbraith - we have some pictures of the riding there that I can upload once we're home.
>
> Lastly - we went to dinner at a place called Brandywine Kitchen and they had great gluten-free food. And the Bellingham Food Co-op is amazing - wish we had a grocery store like that close to our house!
